Over 112 million Christians worldwide do not attend the institutional/denominational church, but have instead opted for the more biblical model as found on the pages of scripture. In 2006/2007 the House church movement was the fastest growing model of Christianity across the world. In the United States alone one million Christians leave the institutional church every year, disillusioned with its out of date and un-biblical traditions, rigid structures and spectator services. Recent statistics have indicated that the number of believers meeting in homes across North America now exceeds five million; it is widely anticipated that this figure will be in excess of 20 million by 2020.
